To facilitate the participants in the Exhibition, we announce a new deadline for submission of posters - Monday 2nd August 2010.

Poster Exhibition

An accompaning event will be an exhibition of posters, in the foyer, showing work by PhD and graduate students. Those wishing to participate in the exhibition can download instructions and a template from http://tensinet2010.uacg.bg/POSTER_Session.zip.

Deadline poster submission is Monday 2nd August 2010.

Trip Sofia - Plovdiv - Bachkovo 18 September

09:00-11:30 - Drive to Plovdiv with a short coffee-break on the road.
11:30-14:30 -  Sightseeing of Plovdiv - the second largest town in Bulgaria with millennial history and well preserved Old part with houses from Bulgarian Revival period (18th - 19th c.) and a Roman Theatre from 2nd c. AD as well as other ruins from Thracian and Roman periods. The distance Sofia-Plovdiv is about 150 km driving along a highway. The tour of Plovdiv will include a walk in the Old Town, visit to House - museums of Hindliyan and Balabanov, the Roman Theatre and an Art gallery, antique shops, Ethnographic museum exterior, with opportunity to visit to the museum as well, visit to St.Kostantine and Elena Church.
Walk along the main pedestrian street of Plovdiv to see the Roman Stadium and visit to a famous Turkish  mosque built at the end of the 14th century.
14:30-15:00 - Drive to Bachkovo Monastery - the second biggest monastery in Bulgaria.
15:00-16:30 - Visit to the monastery, established at the end of the 11th c. with wonderful murals in the refectory, painted in the 17th c. and a very old miraculous icon of the Holy Virgin in the main church. Entrance to the refectory and the old ossuary to enjoy frescoes from 14th c.The ossuary is interesting with the methods of its construction. It represents a mixture of Armenian, Georgian and Byzantine building traditions. The facade is attractively diversified with 8 blind niches and a succession of layers of brick and stone, joined together with mortar.
16:30-17:00 - Some free time in the area of the monastery.
17:00-19:30/20:00 - Drive back to Sofia.
 
The cost of the excursion with VAT is 60 Euro.


Attention failed registration
The Organizing Committee apologizes to the participants, who tried to register by 11 March and have failed due to technical problems with the mail server. We ask those participants to register again. You should know that when you make a successful registration you receive immediately confirmation and a pro-forma invoice to your specified email .


National Symposium

The Third National  Synposium on Steel, Timber and Composite Structures will be held on 15-16 September 2010 at UACEG, Sofia.
